Hello, I got your web address from inside the book “Sliabh Aughty” that my daughter Brenda purchased from Ger Madden this past Spring of 2011 when she and her daughter were visiting family in the Scariff, Feakle area. I had met Ger in 1980 on my first trip to Ireland and again in April 2001 and he was very helpful. In 2001 we were not able to get to Holy Island as the restrictions due to
the foot and mouth disease (did I describe that correctly?). But Brenda got there
on her recent trip. Now we are now even more enthused about learning our family histories, my late mother was Anna Carolan born in Mountshannon and my late father Timothy Callaghan was born in Newmarket Co. Cork. So I will be pursuing more information from yours and Ger’s websites in the very near future.
Thank you so very much, Mary Bohnen
Thanks for the feedback and the info, it’s always interesting to hear of people’s genealogy and experiences with regards to the Sliabh Aughty area and indeed areas all over Ireland.
The new website is in early days yet and is going to be very content rich in the near future so keep an eye on us for helpful information in the coming months.
Once you start your search for genealogical search make sure to contact us and we can refer you to someone that could be a helping hand.
